I guess I must be doing something right. I use single thread of heavey quality and I haven't had any come back for repairs. (most of my quilts go to family)

One thread--tiny stitches, and handquilting thread!

I always use single thread, but I make small stitches, and take a double stitch every 5th stitch. Not sure why - I think I read somewhere that that makes the hand stitching much more secure.

Double

I do the pillow case method or birthing method. Just sew the opening shut. No binding involved

I use a double thread, it seems to hold well.

Hand quilting thread, its stronger and wears extremely well. Do not recommend machine quilting thread, personal choice.

This what I do as well, though I machine on the front and hand stitch to the back.

single thread of hand quilting thread

I use doubled hand quilting thread for all my quilts, take small stitches and pull thread tight.
