Just the other day, I went in to Quilters' Destination in Arlington Heights IL for ONE THING with my loyalty program coupon, and came out with SO MUCH more. I'm not usually like that, but they have great selection, displays, and warm, expert service. Had just gone to a different shop with my mom to buy 108" backing fabric at 30% off, the selection was pitiful, just used the sale coupons for two cuts of batiks and left. I swear, part of it is the service/attitude. Relaxed, helpful, friendly= extra sales.

HEY! Can I help it if a fabric just SINGS to me??!!

and yes, I wanted to say the fabric sings first thing, but was afraid people thought I was "hearing" voices and not reply .. ha ha |
I don't think I've ever walked out of a fabric store with just one thing ! We have 2 really nice ones near me that I try to avoid for just that reason.. LOL

One thing? Not possible for me :D
|
It's even harder when you can't find exactly what you're looking for. "Well, since I'm already here..." ;)
|
I don't go anymore because I can't walk out without spending $100

Isn't it amazing how fabric and toys in quilt shops just call your name? Luckily my quilting friends all have the same problem - like Lay's potatoe chips I think.

I admire anyone who can walk into a quilt shop, buy just the one thing, & walk out with just the one thing.
I almost lock up with the tool section. now I know what men think when they go through the Craftsman section in Sears. :P |
Redkimba - unfortunately I understand about both craft store and tools. I am "letal" in fabric stores, tool stores, and oh my gosh how much money I could spent at a "Hardwood" lumber place.
