Thanks for posting! I GOTTA try it. Think I'll make some table runners like she suggested. Can't wait to start.

Thanks so much for that site. I had never heard of tube quilting, but it sure looks easy. I'm going to have to try that.

Who thinks up these neat and easy techniques? I can barely follow a printed pattern, let alone develop a new technique!

I love it. Thank you. Have to do that one for Christmas.
I have done tube quilts with El Burns but a very different pattern using many strips. |
Actually, the technique is very old, referenced as "bishop's scarf" ... I learned about it on Sew Perfect a bunch of years ago ... guest was:
Linda Maghee ... I used the technique to use in foundation pieced vest ... however, the newest book I have found is called Tube Piecing (?) been awhile since I have seen my copy <g> ... and, the author has done some amazing things with the technique. God bless those souls who must look to the skies, when the rest of us are willing to settle on the view at our feet! LOL ... now, to go find the book! <wave> |
This looks great.
Thanks so much! I can't wait to give this a try on my next quilt! (should be quick too since I need to get it and another quilt done for Christmas!) |
I made a Bargello quilt by tube quilting. I made it from jelly rolls and there were much more strips sewn together to form the tube than what was shown in the video you posted. It was definitely something different to try than the usual strip quilting I'm used to doing.
