Have you used Pounce and stencils to mark your quilt??
I am preparing to machine quilt a quilt, finally finished piecing the crazy thing. It has a lot of black in it, so I am wondering if the Pounce method would work well for marking my quilt. I usually use either disappearing pen or washable. Don't think they will show up on the black at all.

I use it at times but I found for me it is better to mark small areas at a time as the chalk seems to wear off as I manipulate the quilt under the machine. It does show up well on black.

I have wondered the same thing. I've thought about using it but haven't so far. I tried using the "press and seal" wrap but it kept causing my thread to break. I ended up tracing the stencil onto some really old stationary and quilted that way. The paper was so old, it tore off real easy.

Someone said to spray lightly on the quilt with water (mist) and then use the pounce. Also, make sure you swipe across and don't just pound it up and down.

I have used it several times and as said, do small areas at a time but it worked very well for me. Has helped me to learn to meander and don't need to use it now!

I'll have to try dampening the fabric, because it didn't work well for me at all...

I use the iron off white pounce whenever my fabric is dark enough to allow it. I mark a section or swath at a time. It is so much faster to mark this way and so much easier to remove than the markers. I have not had a problem with it coming off but do not mark the entire quilt at once.

I use and love the white powder. I no longer use the blue since I once couldn't remove all the blue marks.

Try using a small foam paint brush to apply the powder instead of pouncing...I am a long armer and it works much better
