i've attached it to a few baby quilts (by request) over the years- it is slippery---so, lots of pins, a little longer stitch than for normal piecing & take it slow- i pin about every 1- 1 1/2" with nice fine glass head pins & make sure to pull each pin as i come to it.

Thank you all for the help. I dread this. Yes it is the binding I see in stores. Does the school glue come out in wash? I have watched youtubes. One of you answered that you use this on purpose. Sigh. Chalking this up to something learned. Thanks for the posts.

Yes, the washable school glue does wash out....I wash in warm water with normal detergent......the glue is gone, leaving no stains....and the quilt is nice and clean for recipient!

Sorry for the hijack, CJ... |
One of the gals at work just bought the satin binding for her quilt and she sewed it down with the machine in one step using a fancy stitch.

Agree- that's a nice job. Love the zig-zag stitch! Sorry for the hijack, CJ... |
You can still get satin blanket binding at JoAnns. Usually used on baby quilts but can be used on any quilt.
I don't understand your second request. sorry peace |
I don't like them that way, but I have a friend who always does baby quilts with satin binding. Go to the notions section of a general sewing store.
