I hope you'll post pictures when you're done! :)
As you requested, I am posting a picture of the quilt top that I made from the diamonds that my great-grandmother cut out in the late 40's to early 50's. The 8 diamonds that I added (cut from her fabric) are at both ends of the diamond runs in the middle border. Hope you can zoom in to see the pretty fabrics. (Looks like I should have hung it a little straighter on the design was and ironed it a little better.) |
That is lovely. Great borders, too!

Beautiful, such lovely colors. I love that you did something with the diamonds your grandmother made.

I would say these were available in the 50's to early 60's. Do you have whole pieces, selvedge to selvedge? The older yardage is approx. 36" wide, versus our 44" today (or 42"). So knowing WOF would be another clue for you. If you find no selvedge but find holes in straight lines, you have feedsacks, but those prints don't look like feedsacks to me.

Your quilt is wonderful!!!!!!!!
The fabrics in your first post remind me of the curtains my aunts used to make for their kitchens - but I don't have an answer for you other than the time was 50's -60's. But they don't look like repros to me. |
I have seen the fabric on the right and it is a Repo 30's fabric. It was probably in the last 3-5 years that I have seen it.
