I guess I am a ambidextrous person. Some things I do right handed & some I do left. I write with my right, but control my mouse with my left. Just can't do the mouse with my right. So your mug rug would be perfect for me, cause I also drink my coffee with my left hand most of the time. I also iron left handed.

Amen to that and I love your avatar!

Not an affliction but a quality! Especially if ambidextrous....
Sports...being ambidextrous was the challenge. I was R handed throwing & bowling, L handed hitting & swinging. For other tasks, I'm R handed eating, L handed writing, though my R hand penmanship is way better than the L hand. (L is faster & the bank would have a fit if I changed hands at this age). Can put R side of my face makeup on w/R hand, L side with L hand. If one hand isn't working, just switch! Same goes for painting - one hand gets tired, use the other. I learned how to knit & other R handed lessons by watching someone do techniques in a mirror, then it's just like a L handed person. I use R handed scissors & L handed rotary cutter. I just practice with both hands & figure out which one works best. Things could be a whole bunch worse. I'd make more mug rugs w/pockets on the other side & have a selection for individual preference : ) |
I'm a lefty also; what's wrong with the quilt rug that you made?

My husband & I are both left handed. When he was a kid working in his Dad's farm machinery shop, the engines, tools, etc, all are designed for righties, so he learned to adapt.
When Mom taught me to crochet, knit, tat, cross stitch, embroider, I faced her & did the reverse of what Mom was doing. One gets used to doing things the oposite way. It looks funny to me when I see my rightie Sis slice home-made bread - of course, she thinks I'm backwards! If left is all I've ever known, it matters not in most things. I did draw the line with scissors - the grooves on right-handed scissors hurt my fingers, so I have several sizes made for lefties now & love them. |
They are just perfect for left or right handed. I'm right handed but have a left handed Mom and Grandmother, so do most things either handed

I am a right handed person and I tend to forget which is right and which is left. So I make a fist then stick out my thumb and first finger on each hand. The left one is a perfect L so then I know which is left and which is wrong. LOL.
Just fruit for thought. |
I know the feeling and it's not always fue althoght I can do alot with my right hand

Another lefty here. The main 'problem' I have is when there is a lot of people over for dinner. A crowded table makes for a lot of elbow bumping. lol. scissors gave me a problem until I started using them upside down.
