As I lay in bed, pondering your problem.....quilters do that, don't they? I thought if the pencil lines do not come out, she could do red work over the lines. It would match in with the colours and if she did a few feathers scattered around, it would look like she planned it.

If you ironed after drawing with the pencil, bad news your stuck with the markings, yes even with the fons/porter pencils.

i had to soak yrs old pencil marks with Oxi Clean. rubbed also. it worked.

i've used spray and wash to remove marks with great success but i too worry that you've ironed it and heat set in the pencil now.
as a rule i won't even put the item in the dryer if the marks haven't disappeared yet |

Mum says she will just take her time and work away little by little with the quilt til she gets the markings out. She is also going to use a toothbrush to help with the removal as it will give a good lather when brushing the markings out. Cheers Andrea |
