Can anyone tell me what to do. There is about 2 inches to go and it wont go forward and wont go back, the handle makes a terrible sound. I think I broke it. Only doing 3 layers of cotton fabric and using the 8 inch rag die.

Have tried forcing and was scared of the sound it made, tried pulling and tugging even swearing. Tomorrow is Sunday here. I will email someone in the USA and see if they reply.
Oh no! That's scary! I have a GO. I'll be watching this post!.
Someone on the email group's accuquilt Go broke. I don't think she ever updated what they said when she called.
I've heard a few people that have broken their GO. When did you buy it? There's a limited time warranty, but maybe it's still covered? Hope so:<
Yeah I've only had it a couple of months and hadn't got around to filling out the warranty  Hardly used it.
If you've used and maintained it as per their instructions then they should
replace it. This is from their website. Care & Maintenance: For best results, always keep your GO! cutter clean and lint free. To clean the cutter inside and out, use a soft dry cloth. Avoid abrasives, solvents and spray cleaners. If necessary, wipe with a damp cloth, then polish with a dry cloth. Use canned air to clear lint from roller area. The GO! fabric cutter does not have replacement parts. Limited One-Year Warranty: We promise your personal AccuQuilt GO! cutter will be free from defects in material or workmanship when used as directed. If you experience a manufacturing defect within one year after purchase, AccuQuilt will repair or replace the cutter at no charge. Improper use, excessive wear and tear caused by commercial use and/or damage caused by the user will void the warranty. This warranty covers only the cutting unit--not mats or dies. To receive a replacement unit, return the cutter to the place you purchased it. |
Thanks - I purchased it from USA because it was on a free shipping deal. Tossed up will I or won't I. It ended up being half the price as to what I would pay for one here. So the free postage clinched the deal. It will cost me about $130. to post back. The handle now just turns and my mat, fabric etc are stuck in the machine. Geez. Think I will contact a supplier to Australia and see if they can do anything. I've cut out one and a half quilts. A friend bought one the same time I did. Hers is making creaky noises.
Damm just bought a whole lot of dies too. Not even touched them. Will keep you all posted. |
Good luck with it. I've thought about buying one from the States too, they are so expensive here. Will be interested to see how you get on.
