Thank you,
Originally, that is what I was kind of thinking. Then I started to wonder with all the points, if the feathers would be good or if it should be something with a more pointed design?
That is why it is still unquilted I pull it out and the undecision comes again.
I haven't done actual feather quilting yet on my long arm but have been practicing them and they are really starting to come together.

of course you would not do the 'embroidery" part... but use this same idea for quilting it.

Wow! thanks for the link, this is wonderful. I always wondered (and of course never asked) how they made things puff out. Beautiful.

I wouldn't trapunto the quilt, but I might echo quilt around the star and into the center of the stars. (remember, the largest reason to quilt is to anchor all the layers together. Depending on your batting, your quilting has a recommended distance you have to quilt within, anything bigger or looser than that will cause your batting to start traveling around)
In the light areas, the "flow" seems to BEG for feathers ... (not double sides feathers, mind you) ... but simply a half sided feather that sort of echoes the star ... have no way to show you what I mean ...
when I look at your quilt, I don't necessarily see the straight lines of the stars, but the lights in contrast, seem to almost be rounded - - it is an optical illusion, and I would think it could be used just to soften the straight lines in your stars.
I think trapunto would make the star look lumpy <wave>

I am totally jealous and envious, I can't wait till I am that good. If you have a longarm, play with all the different stitches. If you don't take it to someone who does that will let you play with it till you find the right stitches.
