I'd do girly for sure. I think you can do the other topics as she ages. How about a paper doll quilt? Try a Google Image search for more ideas.

The brilliant idea was Aussie theme on the front and Alaskan on the back. She has both cultures that way. But, you are giving me so many ideas which all sound fabulous, I may have to make more than one quilt.

if she's a girly girl I would totally play that up! or it would be nice to have a quilt that "grows" with her, one that isn't so childlike that she will outgrow in in few years. Have fun with it!

There are some great Australian designers - Michelle Hill, Sue Daley and the Vignette magazine lady? Maybe a pattern by one of them.
