When I visit my sister in OK & son in IA, we always go to Hobby Lobby at least once. I wish we would get one here in town. They are opening a new Walmart 2 miles away & hope they have fabric.

We just got a Hobby Lobby here in Lake Havasu City Az, Material is not very cheap unless you have the 40% off coupon, then it is about the price of walmart, I have found the prices are better in connecting threads and other catalogs, just watch the sales, I just bought 100 fat quarters, alll good name brands for $100.00,

I love Hobby Lobby and buy most of my fabric there.
Be sure to sign up for their 40% off coupons thru email.

Lucky you.

OK - Just don't ever go without going online and printing off the 40% off coupons. They're actually there nearly everyday - not just once in a while. (Only good on items at full price). The other day however, an item was marked 30% off - the lady was able to ring it up at full price and use the coupon - so there ya have it. All stores may not do that - but this cashier did...

If you have ever shopped Hobby Lobby in the past you are in for a big disappointment. I used to always take an empty suuitcase when I went to Il,OH, or CO. Three years ago I discovered that they had drastically changed their business footprint. A new one opened in a former Mervyns in Rancho Cucamonga,CA. I went there last week and had my quilting heart broken. It's like a huge Pier One with fabric and yarn stashed in the left rear corner. Their house brand fabric seems to be the same quality as Joanns keepsake. They used to also have a nice section of major name, better quality fabric, but no more. The quilting tools and books was no larger than at Michaels. The flannel is a limited selection of flimsy fabric. They had no batting by the yard, just a very limited selection of packaged. The yarn department and notions area have been greatly downsized. They only allow the use of one 40% coupon per visit. They fabric dept is not computerized so you have to wait while the fabric cutter writes everything down on a ticket. There are no scanners in the store so check-out lines were very long. If you have no memories of how great this store used to be you might find that the store will meet your needs or that this store was just suffering opening week blues. Unless a miracle happens I find no need to ever return.
They did have a much better selection of Kona than Joanns.

I also like the selection of fabrics that HL offers. Or at least when I made it to the states and went into one.
