You might look through these. I bookmarked them when I thought I was going to start a crazy quilt with embroidery (never did it).

The 2nd has a large dictionary of embroidery stitches. Look at the name on the 3rd - might help you locate the maker of your lost quilt (other topic).

Welcome to your next addiction blue..lol.. I've embroideried for YEARS.. started as a wee child. I have a pair of pillow cases I did 41 years ago and they are still holding strong.. and yes.. I do use them!!.. Each one has a very old car with plumes of flowers coming out of the back and a little bluebird the size of your thumbnail. (well mine anyway) I do remember vividly that each wee bird took an hour to embroidery.. and I even put tread on the car tires. Was sitting with a sick friend and had time on my hands.. Wish you were closer I'd love to help. I learned from a booklet called "Teach yourself to Embroidery" it was one of a series.

Embroidery is a good hobby. It fits in your tote bag and goes anywhere! You will love it. Most of the stitches are super easy and the thread colors available are great!

I embroider while I "watch" TV with my husband. He's happy because I'm in the room and I don't have to pay any attention to what is on TV.

Cause you know I NEED another addiction! LMAO

I'm quite excited that I might be able to get these wee bugs looking awesome, rather than just vague blobs of colour.

I do needleturn for the same reason as Lisa_wanna_b_quilter, I can sit in the lounge with hubby and watch tv while I'm doing it. :-)
