Looks like fabric pieced together and cut as dresden type block. Good Luck!

LOL I was wondering about that too.

What I wonder about with a block like that is how do you get it really flat with all those seams??

Yup! I will need the good luck part I think.

Wasn't that hard to get the seams to lay flat. I pressed open and trimmed down some seams at the circle end. The hardest part was getting the seams exactly the right width so it laid flat at the inside circle where the appliqued round part went.

auntpiggylpn and dakotamaid thank you for the links. Between the two of them I think I can come up with a block that will fit in with the rows for my row block partner. :D Wish me luck.

It's a lot easier to make the dresden plate with the circle in the center, than this block, with all the seams coming together in the center. You can't press open when everything comes together - you have to twirl.

Dunster, That is the reason I trimmed down some of the seams near the center. I still managed to press open and stay stitch to keep them open. (This block does not have all the seams meet in the middle, there is a space for the appliqued circle. Wish I had taken a pic, not handy with a camera! I need to make another and take pics I guess. :)

Wow, did not realize I could copy and paste an image!!

OK I got that. Oh and do you know that will even go better with the rows then how the original block was made.
