how about making teddy bears for all who want one, if the fabric is too slippry, put a fusible interfacing on it

There are books about this too, that kind of deal with how to work with different fabrics. I unfortunately can't remember a title, but doing an amazon search for "memory quilts" should net some results. I know I checked out one from the library that specifically talked about using the clothing of a family member to make quilts.

I made pillowcases out of my mothers sweatshirts. Everyone who got a pillow loved them.

I would love to check out her web site! Would you please PM me with the address? I have many, many "housedresses" of my Grandmother's that I want to use to make quilted items for her children -- my mother being one of them. I am always looking for ideas for memory quilts.

My GF made those styrofoam Christmas ornaments out of her Mother's clothes that wouldn't go into a quilt. Just a thought for those pieces that wont work well in a quilt. Each family member got an ornament with the Mother's name cross stitched in the center.
