aorlflood 07-26-2010 09:58 AM

When you say "starting on Christmas"...do you mean THIS Christmas or LAST Christmas! ROFLMAO!!!

I tend to start waaaayyyyy too late for holiday stuff!

sltiffee 07-26-2010 10:13 AM

I'm also making pillowcases for all family members, not Christmas fabric, but to fit their personalities as wrapping for the presents i'm giving. Wheather its handmade or bought. I think that would be fun & diferent

tryitall 07-26-2010 11:28 AM

I AM I AM I AM! I, too, love all of the Christmas fabric. I have a small quilt, table runners, and other projects. Some started, some ready to start!

tryitall 07-26-2010 11:29 AM

That is a real cool idea! Thanks!

tryitall 07-26-2010 11:30 AM

What is ROLFMAO?

Cheriefaye2008 07-26-2010 11:31 AM

ROFLMAO - rolling on floor laughing my "butt" off

baglady65 07-26-2010 11:36 AM

Well I started on a tree skirt that was on the Moda Bake Shop site. I have the top done in 1 afternoon! It takes layer cake, very cute and will make at least one more! I have trouble getting holidays stuff done in time and I give up on it! These will be for 2 of my kids with famlies!

Christmas!?!?! That is so far away. I did get some embroidery designs when they were on sale to use for something. Right now I am too busy helping granddaughters learn to sew, making a quilt/blanket for grandson to take to college, and have to make some nighties for SIL that she requested. I always seem to end up rushing at Thanksgiving to get everything done. Probably no quilts this Christmas, they have all gotten them in the past.

SandyMac 07-26-2010 12:06 PM

Christmas omg I had been trying really hard to forget it get this close :(

Shikadee 07-26-2010 12:09 PM

I have. Made several Christmas Bow Tuck Totes and several table runners, working on pillow cases for Christmas gifts, out of fav. colors or personalities to be used year round.

I have to say that I always have the best intentions of getting my Christmas projects out of the way early..... but as it gets closer, I just adjust my list. She doesn't need a quilt this year. He is just let the dog sleep on it. You get the point.

I did a few projects in May from the On the Run book using Christmas fabrics.

So, I am further ahead

fancifrock 07-26-2010 12:51 PM

I thought maybe I was the only one. Glad to hear I am not alone. I make most of my Christmas gifts so I am working on them all year. Makes Christmas last all year

2livesdown7togo 07-26-2010 12:56 PM

A table runner for my neighbor is next on my list. The list. You know, the one that changes daily...

grandaud 07-26-2010 01:02 PM

Have three table runners sewn and I'm working on hand quilting them for 2 daughters and 2 daughters-in-law. Have made quite a few sets of those coasters for our church bazaar and they sold very well.

costumegirl 07-26-2010 01:16 PM

I started thinking about it - LOL! does that count?

Pinkiris 07-26-2010 01:17 PM

Did a major shopping at Marshall's Dry Goods a couple of months ago and bought theme fabric for pillow cases for most of our family members. I've sewn about 5 of them so far. Lots of "fishy" ones for the fishermen in the family and everything from horses to robots for the younger set. Also made a "cocktail" one for a girlfriend. It's fun to match the fabric to the person's job/interests!

I love to start Christmas early. That I can give what I want and aford to do it. I'm on a limited income. And the family loves what I make. Make almost all my Christmas every year. I give it a lot of thought and try to reflect they personaly or give them something they want. I have my list all done and half of the presents.

cindyg 07-26-2010 01:41 PM

I started and completed a queen size Star Log Cabin as a Christmas gift for our church/camping friends. It's not made of Christmas fabrics but Civil War repros.

I am almost done with my Christmas projects. I have made 6 (full size bed) quilts, and 7 aprons. I have one more quilt to make. Then I can start on the pillows to match the quilts.
I started in Feb.

I would love to be making Christmaa gifts for my family, can think of all kinds to make, but my family do not like or appreciate hand made gifts. No sense on spending time doing home made items for them.

sosewcrazy 07-26-2010 05:20 PM

Nope, you're not alone. I got some on sale during spring break last year! Been working on them this summer because once school starts, I'll be sooooo busy.

Thats to bad because their are alot of wonderful things out there just waiting to be created!

mollymct 07-26-2010 05:38 PM

I have not started, have really only begun to think about it. I did a handmade gift for everyone last year and stressed out, so I'm not pressuring myself this time! I think I would like to make a table runner for my Gran and maybe my mom--that's it for handmade, unless I just find myself with plenty of time and ideas! You are all so creative, though! I'm going to have to file some ideas away!!

PJO 07-26-2010 06:24 PM

Have fabric bought for a couple of Christmas quilts, but don't know when I'll get started on them.

Annz 07-26-2010 06:30 PM

No haven't started but did think about it.

jfowles 07-26-2010 06:52 PM

I'm making quilted Christmas wreaths to give at Thanksgiving time so they can be hung and hopefully enjoyed throughout the holidays. I found a great inexpensive pattern on ebay.I get quite a few of my patterns from there ,cheap and different.

sewnsewer2 07-26-2010 06:55 PM

Christmas? Good Lord, I still have baby things to make for my grand baby due in Dec. haven't even thought about Christmas yet! (But I normally would be working on stuff )

Lockeb 07-26-2010 07:00 PM
