I was given 2 FQ, so I made an apron using a QAYG log cabin pattern for the top and the 2nd FQ was just large enough for the skirt.

Agree with all the other stash builders.

Good thing I don't have to have a project for every "extra" yard of fabric that I have in my house!
One yard is perfect for a car/airplane-sized lap blanket! Just get a flannel to put on the back (prewash), sew it together and knot every so often to hold it all together. Perfect gift for a traveler. It rolls up nice and small and you can tie it shut with a ribbon.
Idea # 2 (and it may already be mentioned) If it is a kid-friendly print do as above and donate it to Project Linus. Idea #3 (Sorry, the ideas are flowing!) Make a pillowcase for ConKerr Cancer. They have the pattern on their website with ydg requirements. Have fun with it! |
That is why I don't buy fabric online. You can't see the actual shade or feel the fabric beforehand. I would see if you had something to pair it with and make 9 patches that you can alternate with solid blocks.
Add it to your stash, it will be just the perfect piece for something in your future. And have fun

Use for mug rug or pin cushion
Make an apron... it only takes 1 metre... turn it on point and fold the top point down about 8 inches.... and back it with another or else you can use it as a backing for one that is to your liking.
Just put it in your stash, in time you will find a use for it.
Keep it and let it age, like fine wine, and then it will be there for that special project and it will be the perfect fabric.
