Congrats on the score. You will love using the machine. Have you checked the pattern pages on AC? Register for account and keep a list of your dies. It also keeps your downloads. I keep a list on my ipad for reference when I find a deal.

The cubes offer easy storage for the dies. I have the individual dies that make up each cube so lots of options. You can also do FG iwth 2 dies instead of the specific FG die.

Do you have an EMB machine too. There are EMB designs available to match the dies. They are are fun and add creativity to your projects. The designs match the dies perfect.

Start thinking how you want to store them. I keep them in the plastic/idea sheet in a large plastic bin. The long strip dies are stored in an upright hamper with one of the racks from AC. The plastic envelope is a pain to get back on the die so I might take all those off. They need to be stored upright and not stacked on each other.

Always check the dies and do a few sample cuts when you first purchase. Make sure the cuts are smooth.

Congrats on your find! I've had mine GO a long time and have invested in many dies...hint-to store on end as recommended, go to goodwill or dollar store and look for pot lids racks...work well for storage. My suggestion is buy the value die first - basic square and hst, I believe, and don't forget to buy the mat for it too! Have fun.

I recently bought the go too; as expensive as the dies are I feel the appropriate mat should be included; most aren't that pricey and am sure they make a mint on the dies, so why not include the appropriate mat. I'm making a raggy quilt for my daughter; and am using the dies. I don't see that it is faster other than doing the clipping for me but then I'd never cut mine 1/4" apart. But it is a great system. Look at the size dies you will use the most and then what is in the cubes and decide which way would be the best for you to go to start with. If you have a dealer close by pick up a catalog so you can compare prices from Accuquilt and also on line. Online prices from what I have found are not always cheaper, but most likely the same price as accuquilt prices and sometimes higher, plus when you order from Accuquilt you get points to use in the future. They are not a lot but every little bit helps in my book. You have a year to use the points on future orders.

I have three blocks of the churndash block I have made from cuts from an Accuquilt and I have never had my points etc. match so well as I do those. The accuracy is amazing and while we think we are being accurate hand cutting, there is no comparison in my book, plus you can cut up to 6 layers of cloth on the Electric Go Big, maybe 4 or so on some of the others, so look how much faster you can get blocks cut out.

Do your homework on prices, shipping etc. and look at you will use the most and watch for sales. I have not found ebay to be cheaper on what dies I would use so again do your homework. Enjoy.

I bought the Studio and didn't have a clue which dies to buy. I decided to buy the dies that are common to pre-cuts because I know there are plenty of patterns for pre-cuts. I think I use my 2 1/2 inch strip die more than any others.

I use the strip dies all the time, I also love the half square triangle dies as they clip of the corners for you. If I want to make a particular quilt, I will buy the dies that I need for that specific project. I find better prices on e bay sometimes

Congratulations! I have had my Go since 2006 when they first came on the market. I have over 100 dies now. My favorite is the BOB dies. I can have four blocks cut in one pass. I started buying the dies as I wanted them for a quilt pattern. I keep a good supply of mats on hand bought when I find a good sale.

Don't store your dies laying down. You don't want anything to be laying on top of them. Either I did that or I wore out my 5" die. It leaves lots of spots uncut on the top layer even with a new mat.

Your fabric should be on the length of the grain as it goes through the length of the cutter. Otherwise, the cut won't be accurate.

I'm not a prolific quilter, but the only dies I've used are the 5" square and the 2 1/2" strip. I have a 4" hst die, plus the dies that came with the cutter. I've not used them.

I find I don't use it as much as I did when I first bought it. I get better strips with my Shape Cut ruler, plus you can use it for most any size strip. That said, my cousin uses hers for most of her cutting. She has arthritis in her hands, so it's a big help to her.

I had the original Go but had trouble turning the handle so after many years I bought the Go BIG and love it. I bought the dies mostly from amazon.com as they were less expensive and free shipping with Amazon prime.
I've received specific dies for Christmas presents after I gave a list to my husband and sons.
A list also for your birthday Mother's Day anniversary anything would work, LOL

I know I will feel really stupid when someone tells me what are BOB dies.....what are they?
