Sometimes you can find a really good iron at the thrift stores.

A lady at church was telling me how she hates to leave her ironing board up after she finishes ironing her clothes. I'm thinking, "I hate to put mine down because I always have a quilting project going..never mind about the clothes."

sorry but men go get the iron of your dreams

Some times, they just don't get it.

Mine hit the floor the other day too. It didn't break at all, but it landed on a plastic bag which melted all over it. Guess I'm in the market for a new one too (thank goodness I have my little travel iron!)

:)

I'm sorry about your iron but your DH making that assumption was pretty funny. :D Non-Quilters just don't know. :-D Hope you enjoy your new one.

I'm laughing also...I said I didn't know what an iron was(only kidding) until I started quilting. I tripped on the cord and knocked mine on the carpet and you can guess what it looked like. All the time my family was wanting to take me to the hospital all I could think of is how am I going to get that stuff of my iron. LOL

What, you're suppose to use irons to iron shirts and clothes?????? What a concept.

Seriously, I did teach all of my children the proper way to iron clothes (I can remember my mother teaching me how to iron clothes) but....I have just about given up using my iron for clothes. That is why it is in my sewing room on the ironing pad while my ironing board is in a different room.

I can remember my grandmother ironing all of her sheets and pillowcases, table cloths, hankerchiefs, besides the shirts, pants and dresses.
