i have the one from joann and i love it the sides move up and down to a small space or large, but you could use two file cabinets and a board on top. too.

I bought two tables from Walmart, 3'x6' and put them together and put a thin piece of plywood down and put my 72" long cutting mat on it. I also bought risers from Amazon for very little money that raised them 6". It didn't cost much money at all and I love it.

I use an old kitchen table -- the oak looking top with 4 beefy white legs and I then set it on bed risers to save my back. With the table having beefy legs they don't shift around in the risers.

I have that cutting table and I love it!! It is a good height for most people, has two wings that can be up or down. I recommend it:-)

good morning. you can use anything for a cutting table. I have a board across 2 cabinets just the right heights with my mat on that. You can probably find an old dresser (shorter one) or something to use, and save you some money you can use to buy fabric

I have joann's table and it is just OK...but MUCH BETTER than being on your knees!!!!! Mine works fine, but I have to tighten the nuts every once in a while. It gets a little wobbly, but for the money - I say it is worth it.

I'd say look around and "wiggle" the display and see how stable it is. I have a JoAnn's one and I'm not that impressed. Then I invested more money on a different one, and love it. Sometimes, you get what you pay for. Good luck.

My daughters got me the table from JoAnn's and a large mat for Christmas, I love it. It works for me.

I usually read thru all the responses before replying but don't have time today. Seems like you have a lot of possibilities. But let me give you mine. I got a 6"x30" table and the bed risers. Then had plywood cut to 30" wide by 8' long (but any length is ok) I have a cutting mat that covers the entire top 30"x72"
Another possibility is have one made. There is an interesting plans on Mark Lipinski's blog. I don't have the exact address but if you will go on his site and look. It is a good sturdy table and looks good. |
