I have had to eat my words on more than one ocassion! The lesson learned is: be careful what you say! :-)

I use to teach beginners quilting & loved it. But I could clearly see who would be "addicted" & who wouldn't. I even taught a girl that was colored blind to quilt. When she brought her 7 fabrics to class that is when she told me she was color blind! So we numbered her fabrics L1, L2, L3, M1, M2, M3 (light 1, light 2, light 3 & so on) She kept saying "I can't do this" & I kept telling her "can't" wasn't an acceptable word in my class! By the end of the class she was clearly hooked & even brought her final quilt top back & had made prairie points! I was so proud of her & she was even more proud of herself. And she was so addicted "thanks to me" she said! Keep the enthusiam(sp) flowing!

The first class I signed up for was a "sampler class"
When I paid, the gal said "OK, now don't forget your stash"
I was confused because I didn't own any "stash" and must have overlooked that the title was actually "Stash Sampler Class"

So I bought a lot of stash right out of the gate. I hear ya'

Such a smashing thread. Have read through nodding, smiling and chuckling. Rock on quilters.

When we moved the 700+ miles from Illinois to Oklahoma back in 2007, I didn't think twice about leaving 2 rubbermaid buckets of scraps behind, I didn't have a clue as to what I could possibly ever do with them. O_o What on earth was I thinking??? Now I so wish I could go back in time and insist that "Yes hunny, they are important enough to bring"! LOL. Will never make that mistake again.

Always kept a place for my ''toy box'' n our camping van. This is the best way to meet people on a camping ground, people just want to know what you're doing. Inside a couple of hours you get to know all the quilters!

Not my problem. There are no bars where I live -- so I have my own stash.
