I don't like those acronyms either. I spell out most of my words.

I knew it was time to retire from teaching public school when I sat in staff meetings and they used so many acronyms that I had no idea what they were talking about!

Can you all help me out? I see acronyms on the QB (that one I understand) referring to mother, daughter, son, husband, sewing machine, etc. Can someone please spell this all out for me? The latest is DSM which refers to a sewing machine somehow. Any and all acronyms and their meanings would be most appreciated :) Thank you!

I didn't see these included but see them used all the time so

SIL can be both son in law and sister in law.... confused yet? Acronyms are annoying. Sometimes I feel like people throw them around as if to say, "I know what it means and don't care if you don't"!
I do use the sewing acronyms, mostly just the common ones everyone knows. HSTs are half-square triangles, FMQ is free motion quilting. Those are two that I do use. |
