The polyester double knits would make great quilts for the homeless as they will be very warm. Just do big 8" - 12" squares of fabric for both front and back and tie in the corners...quick, easy, no batting or basting needed.

Congrats on the Haul (Big Haul),
Had quite a bit also and after gave it away someone mentioned that sometimes SPCA of pet rescue can use this for beds, also some church orginazations send containers overseas filled with still useful items. Though sure someone in the states could use some.

Another thing you can do with the double knit is cut it into strips and make crocheted or braided rugs. I have also seen a rug made with 2 inch squares folded in half to make a triangle and then partly layered and sewn in strips on a piece the size of the rug you want. I have been told that the rugs never wear out, and are easy to wash.

Yes, I think double knit poly will be uncovered by archeologists 1,000 years from now.
