I agree with Kalmaquilts. I tok a class with Eleanor Burns and she was a sweerheart. I also loved listening to Ellie Sienkiewicz. She also gave a great class.

Not only how many, but how straight that seam is! But she has been doing it for a long time......sorry gals, but the only hand sewing I do in quilt piecing is hexies......one going to try honeycombs...as soon as pp come in

I attend her monthly Jinny Beyer Club where there is Show and Tell of many completed quilts of her design by members, also Jinny gives insight and answers many questions. People from all over the world come to her shop, some by the bus load! Its a destination stop in Great Falls, Va.

Try You Tube. She may have a video on there. If not her, there's a lot of hand quilting videos.

I have heard she hand stitches faster than a sewing machine ! Her quits are amazing.

Years ago I used to make alot of quilts by hand stitching. I was a nanny to a little bit older kids and took my sewing everywhere. You would be amazed at how fast you can get. It made all those difficult blocks easy. I would quilt them on my sewing machine.

I now take care of really little kids who would get stabbed with a needle in my hand.

I learned from an elderly neighbor many years ago to to almost the same thing on a Y seam. I did not use a pin, and when doing the Y seam, she taught me to do a small back stitch before the Y and as the first stitch of the second piece after the Y as security, and to make sure you had no slippage while sewing the second seam. I hope this makes sense?

OMGSh! How does she control the needle to go forward? She seems to be holding the needle at the very tip. Amazing! Thanks for the link.
