I'm in. Was planning to quilt this weekend so pleased I checked the board thanks Raggiemom for organising. I have four placemats to bind and I also have a sandwiched top that I am going to quilt just hope I have enough thread.

Have you tried MSQC method for HSTs? Quick and easy!

I'm in too. I'm halfway through a strip tubing quilt that I want to finish. Then I'll choose which of my next 100 planned projects to get going on. ;)

First, watching the USA - Russia hockey game. Go USA!

Good morning! I checked in earlier this am and have been trying to make a sample of the Michigan Star quilt block http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...k-t241129.html since. I'm just getting really frustrated and not getting anywhere with it so taking a break for a few minutes. I think I'm going to go work on something else. This is going to be made into a placemat for our minister who's retiring. One of the states he served in was Michigan and I was asked to make a Michigan block. I wish I could find an easier one!

Good morning! Well, I tried binding a few scallops on my string quilt. I did use double thickness binding, on the bias, 2-1/2", folded in half. It looks like it will fold over easily and will not be too bulky. However, I had a problem with puckering/bunching around the edges. I think that I stretched the binding a little too much when I was attaching it. So, I'm pulling it off and reattaching it with a little more gentle touch. Sorry, no pix today. My battery died. :( I hope to get the binding sewn on this weekend and then hand sew it down over the week.

Hi Everyone....WOW....love seeing and hearing all these projects. Have given me some ideas !!! I'm working on an "Under the sea" quilt for my DS and DIL baby - ETA end of April. I have A LOT of work to do - but they only just decided on the "theme" for the nursery. I do my appliques my own way - preparing all the parts first then stitching. I have never been able to handle needle turn as i have trouble with my hands. Wish me luck getting this all done...still have 4 blocks then all the stitching to go !!! Yikes...gotta get back to it !!

Well, I finally got a sample block of the Michigan Star done! I may alter my goals for today and just piece something as I don't want to think about doing the quilting on the machine today :) It's beautiful looking outside although temperature is only 27. My husband is getting ready to head out and shovel last night's snow (4-5 inches). Hope everyone is having a much more successful day than I've had so far. Although I guess it was successful as I got the block done; I just wasn't expecting it to take half the day!
