I love the June Tailor slotted ruler!

Buy the Quilter's Cut 'n Press board at the same time.
It is two sided. One side is for pressing and
flip it over for the cutting side.
Use Both the ruler and board for your best results!

Now why didn’t think of that? Bindings...
I use my strip cut ruler for slicing up 2 1/2 “ squares all the time but I’m not sure why I don’t use it for binding strips. Thanks Jingle.

I have the June Tailor slotted ruler. It's too thin and flexible. The first one was broken when I bought it, so returned it. Then, I nicked it the first time I used it.
This would be true of all that type of ruler, but you have to fold your fabric very carefully or you get a curve in the fold.

I absolutely love my June Tailor Shape Cut ruler, but mine has slits every 1/2" which works for what I cut, it's my go to ruler. I don't know anything about the log cabin ruler.

I have not used either ruler, but I have contemplated the log cabin ruler because I can't make a square log cabin block and I would love to make a log cabin quilt. I just haven't been able to justify yet another ruler.

I have several June Tailor rulers and have never had any trouble with them. There is a 2 1/2 strip one that is very large that I rarely use because it is so large. The Stripology rulers are heavier and a little easier to use. Like all rulers you have to take care that you don’t chip them. Worth every penny in my opinion.

I don't have a June Tailor because I heard about how thin and brittle it was here on the board but also the reviews often say the same thing. I do have a Creative Grids Stripology and absolutely love it. It's grippy like all CG rulers are so it never slips, it's thick but still somewhat flexible (store flat, not on its side) and best of all - it's fast. I can cut a jelly roll in under an hour including the initial pressing of the fabric.

CG Stripology also is slotted every 1/2in and has instructions and a handy chart for 1/4in cuts so you don't have to math for common sizes. I reach for this ruler as often as I can because not only is it accurate and fast, it's fun to use!

Honestly, looking at the QuiltCut that Platyhiker suggested, I may have gone with that if I had known when I first purchased this one. CG is just slightly too short to make it foolproof but I have found if I fold accurately so the fold lines up with the selvage, then line up the bottom fold of my fabric with the top of the #2 line, I don't have a problem with not being able to cut completely through the strips.

I have both the June Taylor slotted ruler in 1/2" increments and the Stripology Ruler. I don't find the June Taylor to be flimsy but mine is several years old so perhaps they have changed since I purchased mine. I use it all the time. I do like the larger size of the Stripology Ruler though. I just never seem to reach for it first. I have found that with either of these rulers, you either love them or you don't like them at all.

I have used the CG Log Cabin ruler and can't say that I was overly impressed. I don't find it any easier to use than just making a log cabin the original way. If you have problems cutting straight, I don't see how this ruler is going to be of any help to you in that department.

I have both rulers and had no issue using either. Log cabin rulers were purchased before I discovered Marti Michelles Rulers and method for making log cabin blocks, this is by far the most accurate an qucik way imho!

I love my June Tailor slotted ruler. I'm sure the Stripology one is better, but this is what I have and is what I use for almost everything. Yes, it has broken in two places, but it repaired easily. Mine is 12" wide with half inch slots. I also have the smaller 1/4" one, but I don't like it. Too many lines (slots), too small and not as stable because of so many slots. I also have the slotted half circle which made a Drunkard's Path quilt easy to cut.
