I just recently lost my beloved Llhasa from old age. He ruled the house, the other puppy and the two cats. I have a super pic of him with his head lifted showing his superiority. Your pic has inspired to to do a thread painting of him. I'm no a great fan of applique. I have done some in the past so am fairly good at it. Let's see..... I will need..... oh ya, TIME!

I also love precuts, especially jelly roll and charms and of course FQs, But I mostly do scrappy quilts, so this way I can get alot of different patterns

I don't buy those special cuts since they cost way more per yard than purchasing regular fabric cuts. I am too cheap to purchase those cuts. If I really wanted special cuts like those, I would find friends with whom I could arrange stash exchanges. Our quilt guild did have one going that you could sign up to exchange nickle squares. Each month, a color was assigned. Each person brought 2 square per person in the exchange. If there were 21 people in the exchange, you would be exchanging with 20 people, so you would bring 40 nickle squares.

You could look at it this way, if you made jewerly, would you make your own beads? If you knit or crochet, would you make your own yarn? Just something to ponder.

I love the pre-cuts espically when I have a lot that needs to co ornate. I agree with lov-e I cant go out and but 42 different fabrics and have them all go together.

The smallest cut I ever buy is a fat quarter. For all the same reasons. 8-)

I've been thinking about doing this too. There are so many patterns out there now for these cuts. I think it'll be a lot more fun and satisfying too, to do it this way.
