I agree with this quilter. Older women LOVE bright colors and wear them quite beautifully. The bright colors in clothes brightens their complexion. Your Mom will love this as it is, also an application of a flower (lilac color perhaps) would enhance the jacket, but I feel it is perfect the way it is. PS I will be 73 in January and I would love to wear this. Merry Christmas

gmaybee 12-24-2010 06:40 AM

I think it looks fine.

QazyQltr 12-24-2010 06:43 AM

Great job! My favorite colors :-)

missionslady 12-24-2010 06:43 AM

The jacket you made for your mother is beautiful! If you think it needs more purple, just suggest that she wear it with purple pants. That should be stunning!

Lucky Lindy 12-24-2010 06:43 AM

I think it looks terrific and I bet your Mom is going to love it! I would!!!

auntmag 12-24-2010 06:45 AM

I think it looks great.

Scakes 12-24-2010 06:59 AM

I like it! I like bright colors though. I think you did a lovely job.

This is not very blended is it? I think that the yellow has taken over. I even stippled in a purple thread to calm down the yellow, but it still is too bright. I have it hanging next to the computer and I almost feel the need to have my sunglasses on.

I would do NOTHING more to this.......I think it is wonderful the way it is..........without the bright yellow, the jacket would not POP......I personally ( and I am not a purple person) would love to wear this, just the way it is!!! NICE JOB!!

Abby'smom 12-24-2010 07:47 AM

I love it -- perfect

Cyn 12-24-2010 08:08 AM

I love it!!!!

tutty 12-24-2010 08:12 AM

Looks good to me !

trolleystation 12-24-2010 08:30 AM

I am 75 years old and I would love to wear that jacket just as it is.

Parrothead 12-24-2010 08:34 AM

It is beautiful and I bet she loves it. As a purple lover, pansies are one of my favorites. Anyone who likes pansies knows they come in different colors. I only saw the purple at first, and then the yellow. I love the fabric and now have added to my to do list for a wall hanging with it.
Relax and have a great Christmas.

fireworkslover 12-24-2010 08:48 AM

It's gorgeous! She'll love it. Don't worry about it. If you make another for yourself, or someone else, change it up then.

grannyp70 12-24-2010 08:51 AM

I love the jacket, I know I would love to have one like it. I bet your mom will love it. I don't think that the yellow is to much. If your mom has grey hair it will look really pretty on her. If she doesn't like it you can send it to me. LOL LOL don't worry I am sure she will love it.

nance-ell 12-24-2010 08:52 AM

I think it's beautiful! Your mom will love it!

Conartist1945 12-24-2010 08:53 AM

I don't think so at all. I think it is very well balanced and in fact, beautiful

kdid82 12-24-2010 09:43 AM

my mother's favorite color was yellow; the outside of our house was yellow, had a yellow kitchen, and she had lots of yellow in her wardrobe, am betting your mother will love it. It's a handmade Christmas gift from her daughter, what's not to love.

My name is Pat and I am a Jacket-a-holic. I love makeing and wearing quilted jackets, and I love your jacket! What I see mostly are the pansies, and I do think you mom will love this! Great job!

jgriinke 12-24-2010 10:26 AM

I think that it looks great!! It is bright and cheery.

LogCabinLady 12-24-2010 10:36 AM

I may have stones thrown at me, but I would never wear this. I think you did an amazing job on it and it is beautiful, but I would never wear it and I am 70 (older person).

Isn't it great that we all have different likes and dislikes? Good work though.

ncsewer 12-24-2010 11:25 AM

I agree, it's beautiful. If she has a pair of deep purple slacks it will really set it off. Once you see her with it as part of an outfit and not just on it's own, you'may like it better. You did a great job.

Fabulous. She'll love it.

I like it!!!

Roberta 12-24-2010 12:57 PM

Just my opinion but I wouldn't change a thing. I think it's perfect the way it is, bright and cheery.

justflyingin 12-24-2010 12:59 PM

I think it's pretty like it is.

purrfectquilts 12-24-2010 01:00 PM

I think it is very nice. A little bit of yellow, red, orange, etc. goes a long way ......but this is tasteful and vibrant. Looks great!!

TexasSunshine 12-24-2010 01:42 PM

It looks great, I would wear it.

I like the sunshine feel of it!

JAGSD 12-24-2010 02:45 PM

Beautiful!
I would wear it.

NUTMEG10 12-24-2010 03:13 PM

I like it. Yellow makes it pop. Pansy's are pretty.

catrancher 12-24-2010 03:57 PM

I think it's beautiful, and I think your mother will love it.

I do not think that the yellow has over taken it at all. I think it is very beautiful. She will love it.

grannypat7925 12-24-2010 04:27 PM

Personally I think it is very pretty and bright. I'm sure she will love it!

annpryor 12-24-2010 05:01 PM

I think it is beautiful but then I love those colors.

Jo Belmont 12-24-2010 05:41 PM

Well, I'll tell ya, I'm 70, and I'd be wearing that out! It's bee-yoo-ti-ful! And someone mentioned deep purple slacks with it. That would be stunning!

Don't touch a thing. Do be sure to tell Mom, though, that you finally found something that's as vivacious and cheerful as she is. Explain that she is so exceptional, that you felt she needed to have a "presence" when she entered a room.

A class act, m'lady. Ya done good.

egagnon291 12-24-2010 06:16 PM

I like it just as it is.
