Yeah, that't what it looks like to me too. One of the gals in my class had that problem and the teacher kept telling her to speed up the machine.

If your quilt machine doesn't have a stitch 'regulator' you are going to fast.

If it does it's the tension, I would start by increasing the tension on my bobbin if the quilting platform you are using has that option.

A quick test to find out if it's the tension or if it's you moving too fast is to stitch a straight line. If those stitches are good, then it's you going too fast. If the straight stitches are loopy too, then it's your tension.

Maybe you can make a practice sandwich piece of the same materials, etc. to figure out what the problem is. Then you won't have to rip your nice quilt out?

This is what I do before I quilt each project. I try to check after I've sewn a little bit too to make sure everything is looking good....ask me how I know....lol.

If I have enough fabric left, I make a little piece of top, batting and backing 10 x 10 or so to test on before I start and every time I change my bobbin. It's saved me a lot of time.

I am soooooo there with you!!! I have spent the last 3 days ripping out the quilting stitches. Wish they would rip out as fast as I put them in.
