RE: subscriptions/mags....I have discontinued all of my subs.....I look at the local Walmart monthly at the offerings there, and if something really "hits" me I will buy the mag....It seems they are all the same, just different fabs and lots of ads!!!!! |

I sure wish the American magazines would expand their horizons. They all seem to be the same old, same old. I'd LOVE to see them start featuring more of the styles and ideas coming out of Australia and Japan. |
Like quiltmom04 I detest the mags. sealed in plastic bags. I stopped all subscriptions to save money, and space. I now go to my local public library one afternoon a month to read my favorite ones for FREE. I can also check out issues for a week if there is something I really like. Most of the stuff in American magazines is about as interesting as oatmeal anyway. For a treat sometimes I buy the Australian issues, at Joannes where they are 10% off. I leaf through the mag. at the store and only buy if there is something in it I am really interested in.

That is way too pricey for me.... If I really want a pattern from a magazine I just head on over to Ebay and check out those. Heck, 99cents and there are hundreds of them. I have a notebook full, and I have the ones I want.

I just got a renewsal notice. It is $20.97 /1yr and $32.97/2 yrs. I am not going to renew since I did not find many w quilts that I wanted to make. I am not a great sibscriber to mags so I prefer to buy a seperate pattern or look for "free" on the internet.

I got one of those and I ignored and a month later I got a did not pay notice that was DOUBLE. Thought about calling the the number to ask what the heck was going on. IT HAS TO BE A SCAM! You'lll notice that its a subscription service of some kind. Wonder if Fons and Porter knows about this? Don't have the papers any more. Wish I did so I could give F&P a call to let them know.
