I had no idea as I have only used freezer paper for applique and paper piecing I couldn't fathom how one would use freezer paper for marking a quilt top.

You are welcome Feline, I have only just twigged this for myself too, and am kicking myself I didn't twig earlier. You can machine stitch through the freezer paper too (use a fairly small stitch) and it tears away almost as well as ordinary copy paper. I used this method when quilting some feathers that I wasn't too confident doing totally freehand.

I use a plain old pencil. Works fine.

I love my Bohn mechanical pencil. I also discovered that they have a green "lead" color that shows up on both light and dark!! Works great!

Lots of good suggestions here. I use the chalko thing with the wheel, but my ladies rub it off and it has to be remarked. I mark the quilts before they are sandwiched when we quilt at church. Have done the freezer paper shapes also.

Thanks for these wonderful tips everyone.
Now where can I buy these items.
I know Joanns has Fons & Porters, but what about the other brands?
Thanks,
K
