Color always catches my eye first and then the pattern

I just do what appeals to my eye. I don't fret about anything else. It doesn't matter how easy or complicated the pattern is. Since I'm color blind, color doesn't factor in at all. I work strictly in values and that works great for me. Obviously I want it square when done with no lumps. As long as it's fun and goes to a good home when done that's all that matters to me.

I just love when all the points match up perfectly. But, if it is a gift to me I simply notice all the love that went into making it and nothing more.

I always see color first. and think that's what makes a quilt loved the most. when you walk into a bedroom and SEE a beautiful quilt it's the color you see then the pattern then a closer look will detail the quilting. A beautiful pattern in a bad choice of colors... Get a good color wheel from an arts supply store. your color confidence will grow and grow! ube quilting

'That is to say, "Is it something I have not seen before? Does it look like something that would teach me something new? Would it look particularly fetching in a mini?" |
colr first and then design. some of the simplest patterns can be absolutely stunning-with the right colors.
