My stand came with an iron I bought a long time ago. It is EuroPro.

I think every sewer needs at least two working irons. At last count I have four and one travel iron. I can't pass up a new in box iron at a yard sale for a couple of dollars. Someone will need it.

My son is a Boy Scout and our troop has a garage sale twice a year. This past spring I found 2 irons, and brought them both home for very little money. I always make out a nice check anyway. But the one has been working great and I still have a back up. Works for me. My dh calls me cheap, but I prefer frugal.

The only time I have to send anything back like that was a blood pressure machine. It was a Walgreen's brand that had a life time warranty. It was six years old when it stopped working. I called them and they said send it back with no money for return postage. In two weeks they sent me this years model of their most expensive one and the only thing I had to pay was what I spent to mail it to them. I was very pleased with them.

I have never had my Rowenta iron fail but then it was made in Germany, not China as so many of the new ones are. I prefer having the auto shut off. I am so forgetful, I am afraid I would burn down the house!!!

Tuesday Mornings here has the Rowenta made in Germany. The company was sold and now made in China.
