You're right that the open toe that comes with it faces you - when you use the machine on a table in the normal position. The new foot is rotated so that the open part is at the left side - that way when you have the machine sideways - on a quilting frame - the open toe will face you.

I use my Horizon on an original Inspira frame. I did make some alterations though. The Horizon is a bit too wide to fit on the carriage between the handlebars. I just bent them out a bit and put longer bolts in with a couple of nuts in between to fill the space.
I also added some 3" steel strips (sold as repair bars at Rona/Home Depot etc) to the place where the take up roller meets the side brackets. This allowed me to expand the 8" space between the rollers to 11". This way I can take advantage of the full width of the Horizon's 11" throat.
