anything with bright colors, you could do any pattern, but bright colors are great for little ones....OR if you applique, machine or by hand, there are such cute free applique patterns on the web, such as turtles, animals, trucks, cars, trains, just anything for the little....congrats on your addition, and good luck with the quilt.....

Babies respond to high-contrast colors, like black and white. Just adding another idea...

I did an A-B-C quilt I got from a kit. I got it from my LQS, but you can find it here - http://www.americanjane.com/kits.php

It came together really fast, and it looks so cute when finished. Best part is, the label is pieced into the quilt, so no one can remove it over the years, without ruining the quilt!

I try to make baby quilts with different textures as well as colors, so I use bright colors in cottons, satins, velvets, chenilles, whatever has a different texture. What little boys don't love trucks and trains. Good luck and have fun with it.

I'm getting ready to make quilts out of cheater panels that are suposed to be used for books. I'm going to use the pages and put boarders arround them and turn them into quilts. I have bought the three little pigs panel from walmart and useing bright boarders.

I think a bug jars quilt. They are so adorable and are really fun to make. I have one started for my great nephew for Christmas with lots of jars and all different sizes. They always turn out so cute.

This is too funny. We have a friend who loves pigs; thanks to my daughter. My daughter bought the same panels from Walmarts to make a quilt for our friend. Good thinking
