I think I would go with a green to match background fabric so it doesn't compete with your beautiful butterflies.

Hey, not to change the subject completely....but..I keep looking at that cat and can't figure out if he's had a complete haircut, minus the neck and under-chin area, or if he's some breed I've never heard about that has a "lion's mane". I love cats of all kinds, though I only have 3 now. But yours is a stumper. Ruth

I have to agree with sewjoyce also. If you use a color close to the color of the butterfly, it won't stand out and define it.
