OMG...I LOVE your quilt.

I too am working on something that I designed and it looked great on paper but for some reason it's not looking quite right when I lay out the fabrics...lol. Quilting is like a puzzle...every piece has to fit just right.

Anyway...I am sure your grandfather will love the quilt. My hubby would love one like it. He has read The Night Before Christmas just about every year...first to our kids and now our grandchildren...that's about 40 years.

this is a gift that any one would love to have, beautifully done, a lot of work and labor of love.

If the embroidered blocks are all the same size, then I would use the sashing on just the sides and add a different color block on the corners....it will help keep your blocks in line....kinda like this one
