Someone has one that has a light and a magnifier glass on it. I want to get that one.

There's one review on Joann's about this and it isn't good. Here's what they said.
"Needed this item to finish pulling out stitches and I thought this would work great for those tiny stitches. Well waited for 10 days got the product today and it doesn't work. Don't know if its the batteries or not. Don't buy this product. You will be very disappointed. Batteries probably cost more than this item." |
Live near a farm supply store? Those fancy super thin seam rippers that are a curved blade are a knock off of a blade and handle farmers use to castrate little boy pigs. You are paying more $ because it says quilt. Just be very careful cuz they are surgical sharp. But if I have a lot of ripping to do it's my go to tool. Suppose you can tell I'm a farmers wife and worked in the farrowing house when we raised hogs.

I bought one from Amazon.com and really like it. The magnifier and light is a great combination.

My daughter bought me one last year for my birthday,I said to myself I'll never use that ,but I have quite a bit at night when I can't see well.It was 19.95 well worht it

It sounds like it would be a great thing to have, but someone just gave me a pair of lighted reading glasses to use when I sew. Since I already have a seam ripper, and now the glasses, maybe I don't need the new seam ripper :o

I guess if you are using the seam ripper on dark fabric with dard thread, it would be a great tool. I will keep looking for one, and try it.

I have one with a magnifing class on it and I don't like it. The magnifier sets to close to the ripper and I can't adjust it enough to make a difference. If the light would be in a different position it would be very nice but I would have to really look it over before buying. I think I paid about $8.00 for it so I would really have to look it over before buying.

I came across a really neat seam ripper that has a light on it and thinking of buying it. It is called the Seam lite. Just wondering if any one has purchased one or used them and do they work.

i have one that has the magnifying glass as well. great as seam ripper, even better as little book reader when we lost power for 5 days.

Years ago my son left a head lamp on the counter that he had been using for some cave exploring. It is a light with elastic straps that you wear on your head. I grabbed it and used it to do some work with the seam ripper and it worked great! They now have them with LED lighting and most are under $10.00. Nice thing is you aim them to point right where you are focusing with your eyes. I use it any time I have to use the seam ripper as aging eyes need more light. Some like a jewelers light actually have a magnifying glass attached. Ann in TN
