Well, for my birthday I got a new brother 6800 sewing/embrodiery machine.
Let me tell you, that after using a vintage 1967 Fleetwood sewing amchine that had only straight and zig zag stitching, this sure has the bells and whistles. Now I just have to figure them all out. So far I have successfully, wound the bobbin, threaded the maching, and pieced some blocks together and I have expolered some of the stitches on scrap fabric. The funny thing is, I wonder how long it will take me to have the muscle memory of where you lift the pressure foot. I keep reaching to the back of the machine and its not there, it is on the inside . I think if I put a nickle in the bank each time I reached around back, I would soon be able to buy lots of fabric. I have 40+ years of retraining to do. Well here is to happy sewing. |
