I will do my best to make them all different sizes to drive myself insane when it is time to put them together. Furthermore, I will use up those odd, not quite square half square triangles and other odd cuts. I will sew tiny pieces together to inspire others to say "What on Earth was she thinking"? I will fear no color, face yellow and purple and orange and turquoise and checks and stripes with a smile, or grimace, but I will sew them together. I will not quake in fear of the quilt police, for they live in me alone and I CAN have a glass of wine if I need to. |

Example: Some made with 2-1/2" squares (6" finished), some made with 3-1/2" squared (9" finished), and some with 4-1/2" squares (12" finished) Then set them with solid, embroidered, or applique blocks (also mixed sizes to fill in) and you would have a Sampler type. I think this would be a neat way to use up some UFBs or create a "theme" quilt (butterflies, turtles, christmas, fall leaves, whatever strikes) |

Oh OH Oh I thought about it - I can work on the 3 1/2" 9Patch collection *I already have started* :)
If I really wanted to cheat - I could have kept the above sentence a secret and just posted a picture every day of a *new* 9patch from the collection - but I'm honest. Thanks for starting the NPP. |
Hmmm , I think I could handle this as well... not a must complete if something comes up a day or two! yes I will try this too. :)

you are welcome, I will create a new thread for us for 9 patch project ideas, but I can only post 5 a day rules of the forum and can't post any more today, but will after midnight!
|
Count me in too please.
|
HaHa wow I walk away from the comp for a couple hours and look what happened! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-happy114.gif This is great!
Remember there are NO quilt police. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-char039.gifThe only rules are make 1 nine patch a day from June 15 to August 15 and you use your stash to do it. (If you are a new quilter without a large stash and have to buy fabric don't break the bank.) Make more than 1 a day if you want, any size you want, any colors you want, set them any way you want and give them to whomever you want or keep it and cuddle into it this winter. Anything goes! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...merv/dance.gif |
i'm in
|
OH! I have been asked to remind everyone this is a Group Activity and not a Swap.
|
I started a 9 patch last year, its a UFO at this point LOL
I will pull it out and work on it, so count me in. It was a scrap surprise class I taught so all the fabrics ARE from my stash. |
I'm in! It's kind of funny, actually, because I just started making some 9-patch blocks out of my scraps a few days ago. I *definitely* need to reduce my stash.
|
OK we are now an official "Group Activity". So far there are 37 of us. Let me know if I missed anyone. This is my first time to set anything up. Hope I did it correctly. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/s...shocked032.gif

Yes, thanks this will be a fun Group Activity!!!!
Thank you for hosting this cool Group Activity. Craftybear |
Count me in too!! This sounds like fun!
|
Me too, me too. I wanna play! This thread is gonna fill up with pictures pretty quickly on the 15th, huh?
|
Oh sure why not--9 patches are fun and mindless--but the wavy one sounds intriguing! And I won't count the ones I have in my block stash!!Thanks for the links Craftybear.
|
Just to add a little more inspiration here is a link for 9 patch images:

I have gotten a request to do this from June 15 to August 31. What say you all? That will give us 78 blocks when we are done.
|
Fine with me!
