I have done that many times when doing scrappy quilts. They can blend in nicely with the border fabric.

I finished putting the binding on around midnight last night. While not exactly what I would have wished for, at least it is finished at last!

One thing for sure, it'll be hard to lose!

if you do a pieced binding, just lay it out before sewing on so you can be sure you don't have a seam of the binding piecing ending up on any corner. will look great what ever way you decide.
