All good hints on getting it out. Make sure it is UNPLUGGED when you try any of them. If you have a small set of needle nose pliers you may be able to get them in there to grab the base of the filiment to push and turn.

In the old days they told us to use a slice of raw potato when the bulb of a light broke. On the FW 221, you are suppose to press in the light bulb and turn it to the left and it should pop out - I know there is a cover - but maybe you could carve te raw potato so it will fit. Just a thought.

thanks so much! I went to my Ab sew & Vac they had the little tube tool for .99 it worked great!
I am going to look for the book also. Next I going to the the feather weight factory 221 on computer thanks again! |
what about a magnet ,a strong but thin one so you can turn the broken part some and pull it out just a throught

Sorry to hear of your trouble. My suggestion is what I have done when lights have broken off in thier socket I use a cut potato and push it into it and the turn and get it out. I do not know if you have enough room to do that in this case.

One thing you could try: Fill the hole with poster putty and then insert a pair of needlenose pliers, open them up and turn the blob of putty, the broken piece should turn with the putty, then pull all out at one time. On my FW the cover turns and come off from the base.

It has just about any information that you need to know to take care of your FW, it's easy reading and the drawings are detailed and easy to see (as opposed to the pictures in the manuals).
