Great job, Great choose of fabric & great tip! I have not made any quilt YET that I would be sewing a whole block on before cutting it.What size is the main blocks? I love the look of this quilt & would love to have the pattern.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is just the hint I've been needing! I already have a quilt in progress that I can use this on! Bless you!

I have a "handy" tool that I purchased - clear plastic with lines on it, but I like your idea better - it's easier to put on the machine and has a longer line - my plastic works well for smaller squares, but the larger ones are harder since the piece of plastic isn't long enough. As a matter of fact, the last time I used mine, I did extend the line with painter's tape - never thought of just using that and leaving the plastic in the box - now I know.
Blue painter's tape is a good friend for quilter's - I keep a roll in my sewing box. |

I also do this when making HSTs. Place painters tape straight down from 1/4" right of the needle; use squares; line diagonal corners on painters tape; sew. Turn squares around and repeat the process. Cut squares in half diagonally. Perfect HSTs every time.

Thanks for that tip, I never thought about that. It will be good when I work with my 8 year old granddaughter.
During Spring break she and I taped 6 quilting segments for my upcoming quilting programs on public TV |
