I know the featherweight is nice, but very expensive. If you are not going to be lugging the machine around, save the money-------------for fabric! |
If you want the machine simply for piecing, then the featherweight and all the other suggestions are fine.
If you want to actually quilt with the machine, either straight stitching with a walking foot or free motion, then you want a heavier duty machine than a featherweight with a larger harp (throat) size -- so more quilt can fit under the arm of the machine. |
