If you did a triangle - that was 30-60-90 degrees you should be able to sew them to each side of your diamonds before you sew your diamonds together - and avoid y seams.
Or if you wanted one solid triangle the large angle should be 120 and the two small angles 30 degrees |
ok that sounds like it should work ill see what i can do hopfully i can get it done tonight. thanks everyone for your advice and compliments.

I would think you can call it a Lone Star. A Lone Star is a single star, and that is what you have. You can name it Six Point Lone Star. That would work. I think it is beautiful.
