Remember Organ makes different types of needles. You don't want the ball point for sewing cotton. Organ makes needles for Brother, Janome and Pfaff special just for those machines if you find your machine is fussy with the regular Organ needles.

I studied about steel production in a metallurgy class. Japanese steel is the best steel for needles and pins. And the Japanese manufactured needles are the industry standard for quality needles. I always look for made in Japan when buying pins and needles.

When I took my classes on my Brother machine from the dealer, they mentioned that when the machines are initially tested and balanced they use organ needles for the process.

I have a Designer 1, and SE........I was told they are just a bit longer than the Scchmetz, and to avoid them by a sales friend of mine. However, my other friend uses them in her Designer 1 and her Pfaff....no problems........calla

I have the Viking Diamond, bought 100 pack of Organ, use them for sewing. But for embroidery I use the brand my Viking dealer turned me on to...I think it is Encore??? Made by Viking (or at least sold for them) and they have a longer eye...doesn't shred the thread as often, works well but I often forget to change out the Organ when I start ME, so unless it is giving me trouble, I never notice a difference. But I have 100 of those Encore as well (about $50), so shouldn't run out of needles for awhile!

I just noticed how cheaply you can buy Organ needles. Amazon has some sizes for 100 less than $10. Is that correct and are they any good? I just can hardly believe that price for GOOD needles.

I never heard of Organ needles, but Googled them and found really good prices on several different sizes. Thanks for the tip. froggyintexas

I use Organ needles. My Bernina dealer sells them in her shop.

I recently purchased a pack of titanium coated needles from Superior for my domestic machine, thinking that since my longarm loved them, the Brother might love them, too. Wrong. The Brother didn't care for them AT ALL, so back to Schmetz needles I go. Guess I'll have to try Organ needles another day.

I use Organ needles all of the time in my Juki, Janome, Husqvarnas, Berninas and my vintage Singers. All of my machines like them.
