The great grandaughters co worker said: There are two names that I believe are relatives. Arlie Kirkham and Leona or Lena Kirkham were sisters - two of about ten children born/raised in Roxton. Arlie Thomas lives in Pleasant Grove, near Dallas.

So with the right spelling I found 1930 United States Federal Census
about Arlie Kirkham Home in 1930: Precinct 2, Lamar, Texas family #15

I have a classmate from Clarksville, Tx & her last name was Busby. She still lives there, It may be some of her family as Paris is just about 30 miles from Clarksville. I will see if I can get an email for her if you like. Pm me & let me know.

How wonderful a quilt top is that????? Hope you find some link to it through somebody. Just a thought, but a lot of times, these were done through churches. Is Paris TX too big for you to email all of the churches (or at least the major ones) that are old enough to have been the site of this quilt and see if somebody recognizes the names???? It would only take one senior person to unlock this whole mystery for you!!!!!

I quilted a quilt top from the same time period for another member of his family. The same memory block pattern. it must have been popular at the time.

Just read your post. My dad had a good fishing buddy. His name was Orville Bobo. Is that some of your people? He has since passed, would have been in his 80's.

Often these blocks were signed by everyone and then embroidered by others, so anybody who could sign their name could participate. Back then that was probably about age 7-8. Cursive was taught earlier then.
