Holy cow! The members of this board are amazing. What a find and what an incredible amount of information in a short amount of time. Beautiful quilt to be treasured no matter where it ends up.

Alrie Coplin 's obituary says She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist church.

It would only take one senior person to unlock this whole mystery for you!!!!!

That is just gorgeous. I would start at the web site below. They are the Texas History Experts. They might even have names of quilter's from county fairs. County Fairs in Texas were huge, because that was usually the only way some people got to see friends and family. I went to one Texas State fair, and it took me two days to see most of it! This is the Texas State Museums site. Hope this is helpful.

You might also try visiting small area church 'rosters'. That was another way quilters found each other. Paris is not that big. It is worth a shot.... ;)

I just remembered something: Texas towns have private libraries, and they keep great records. Even the smaller ones may have websites. Try Paris, Texas yellow pages, to get started there. I hope you find them.

Such a wonderful quilt. It makes me very sad that it ended up in a shop for sale.
