literally. no Pfaff dealer within 200 miles. karen |
Last time my bulb went out, I had the dealer change it and clean the machine at the same time. They told me you have to take the machine part way apart. Guess now I know better!

I got a tool from my dealer. It was for a Viking. It worked fine.
I have small hand and was able to change my friends 7570 bulb with out it. It was a bit of a job. If you can push up on the bulb and rotate it (see manual) It will pop out. The hard part is pushing it up and turning it at the same time to install the new bulb. |

I will will be sewing tomorrow. Sewing friend use to teach for Pfaff, she said you can change bulb by hand, but it not real easy but you can do it. Push bulb up and turn. I think small hands and fingers may help. |

Locate a medium-sized philips head screwdriver with at least a 2" straight shank, a flashlight and a new 15 watt bulb.
You will now remove the plastic end cap, exposing the lamp and socket. Raise the carrying handle and look in the slot/groove now exposed behind the left end of the handle . There is a hole/slot (ignore the smaller hole) in the plastic housing almost directly over where the bulb is located. Use your flashlight to locate the phillips crossed-slots in a black screw about a 1/2" below the hole/slot. Insert the screwdriver tip thru the hole/slot and rotate it until you feel it engage the screw head. Press down firmly and unscrew the screw several turns. The entire plastic end cap housing which covers the bulb and the needle mechanism will slide straight out and away from the main plastic frame. You will be amazed to see the entire bulb and socket exposed. Looking down on the bulb, remove it by pushing it firmly upward and rotating it clockwise. Insert the new bulb by locating the guide grooves, inserting the bulb, then pushing it firmly upward and rotating it counter-clockwise to seat and lock it in place. Unscrew the screw an additional few rotations so that that the washer under its head won't interfere with re-assembly. Gently replace the end cap so that the metal ears are under the screw and washer - retighten thru the hole/slot. Voila, a new bulb in less than two minutes . . . Take this opportunity to oil the needle mechanism if you wish . . . Bon chance . . . . . Dan |
See above .

Dan, I don't have the tool that others say I should have and there are no Pfaff dealers in this state. You really helped me out I think I can do this.
Thank you so much. Karen/wichypoo |
