Your pillow is gorgeous!!!!!!! I need to make one :)
I also have trouble with corners sometimes. I clip near the seam and use that pointy thing I have (sorry I forgot what it's called!) and that helps. Beautiful work!! |
Sew Batik sells a pillow corner template for the Dritz Home Company that gives you great slightly reduced corners. For pillows 12 to 20 inches. $6.00

Thank you for your suggestions and links. I have bookmarked all of them and will check them out for the next pillow. I have thought about redoing this pillow, but it is a Christmas gift and I don't think I have the time! I also wonder if I should have sandwiched the top and quilted it. Well, next time! Love this board!
|
If I am using a pillow form, I also stuff some poly fill (sp?) in the corners. This helps to keeps the corners point-y.

Why don't we all just decide that pillows are SUPPOSED to have pointy corners!
Beautiful by the way! |
I always put cotton balls in the corners to take up the room and they look better.

There's a formula where you trim the corners down so you don't get the bunny ears. Let me look & see if I can find it.
OK, here's one: https://sew4home.com/tips-resources/...square-pillows |

I take 2 or 3 stitches across the corner rather than stitching right up to the corner and then down the other side. It's easier to get a non-bulky corner without trimming your seam allowances down to almost nothing.
And I really like the trimmed seam allowances at the corners, too. That makes sense. |
Gorgeous pillow!

I make the seam allowance slightly larger on the last two inches of the seam at the corners, this looks like a slight curve but the forms fill out the corners better.
